How to Calculate FBA Profit in the UK (2026 Fee Guide)

Pricing in pounds? The profit chain works the same as the US — price minus fees minus cost — but three local details change the numbers: your fee rates come from Seller Central, your dimensions are metric, and VAT sits outside the math.

The method, step by step

  1. Open the calculator and select United Kingdom. Currency switches to GBP; units switch to centimetres and kilograms.
  2. Enter your referral % and fulfillment fee manually. Amazon UK publishes its own schedules, so the UK view does not assume the US rate card — copy both numbers from Seller Central for your category and size tier.
  3. Model prices ex-VAT, and gross up the referral line. UK referral fees are quoted against the VAT-inclusive price, so add 20% back onto that one line while your price and cost inputs stay net of VAT.
  4. Enter price, landed cost, dimensions and ad spend. Dimensional weight uses the international divisor: cm³ ÷ 5,000 — a 20 × 15 × 5 cm box bills at 0.3 kg even when the scale says less.
  5. Read net profit, margin and break-even price. Price at least 20% above break-even; the 20–30% net margin target still holds for UK SKUs.

What changes for a UK seller

CurrencyGBP throughout — it is what you are paid and what UK fees are billed in.
VAT (20%)Collected and remitted to HMRC separately; model prices excluding VAT when registered. Note UK referral fees are quoted against the VAT-inclusive price, so gross up for that line.
Fee ratesEntered manually from Seller Central — the skeleton mirrors the US (15% most categories, tiered beauty/clothing) but Amazon UK sets its own thresholds.
Unitscm / kg; divisor 5,000 instead of the US 139.

Illustrative example per the site's UK worked model: a £25 price nets roughly £7.25 (29.0%) once fees, ads and cost are stacked — your real numbers depend on the rates you enter.

The mistake that inflates UK estimates

Most wrong UK profit numbers come from one habit: borrowing US dollar rates and converting them. Amazon UK fulfillment bands re-price on their own schedule, so a margin that looks right today can shift a point or two after the next UK schedule lands. Treat the manual fee fields as living inputs — refresh them when Seller Central updates, and re-check your break-even.

Rule of thumb: if you source from outside the UK, enter landed cost at your actual landed conversion plus transfer fees, not the headline GBP rate. See the UK FBA guide for the full worked model. Tax treatment varies by registration status — these are planning estimates, not tax advice.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the UK FBA calculator ask me to enter fees manually?

Amazon UK publishes its own referral and fulfillment schedules that move independently of the US rate card. The tool loads the official US 2026 rates automatically and switches UK to manual entry — you type the referral percentage and fulfillment fee from your own Seller Central, so the estimate reflects your market rather than an assumed rate.
