What Fees Does Amazon Deduct From Every FBA Sale?

Before the payout reaches your bank, Amazon deducts a fixed list from each FBA order. Here it is, line by line — and the moment you should look at this list is not when the monthly statement lands, but before you price the product.

The per-sale deduction checklist

When this checklist means reprice

Run the list against your price in the calculator, then look at the net result. If net profit is at or below zero, your price is below break-even and every sale is a loss; if it sits under 15%, the SKU needs a higher price or a lower cost — not more traffic. The math is the same whether you sell one order a day or a hundred.

Remember the hidden two: inbound freight is not an Amazon deduction, but it comes out of the same pocket. Counting only Amazon's lines leaves $1.50/unit of the $30 example quietly unaccounted for.

Frequently asked questions

What fees does Amazon take out of each FBA sale?

Every FBA order deducts a referral fee (8–45% by category, $0.30 minimum), the FBA fulfillment fee (size-tiered in the 2026 bands), the 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge on that fulfillment fee, plus any advertising spend. Storage bills monthly on inventory, and the inbound placement service fee applies to single-point shipments. Returns reverse the referral and fulfillment on refunded units.
