How to read these numbers
  • Minimum price is the lowest price (cent precision) where your net profit meets the target; the cent below it fails the target.
  • Break-even price is where net profit hits $0 — pricing under it loses money on every unit.
  • Fulfillment + fuel combines the size-tier fee with the 3.5% surcharge on it.
  • Return allowance assumes every returned order loses the referral, fulfillment, surcharge and product cost — your real rate may differ by category.
How do I price an FBA product for profit?

Start from the profit you want, not from a competitor's price. Enter your target net profit per unit, product cost, inbound freight, category, package weight and dimensions, ad spend share and expected return rate. The calculator scans prices from $1.00 upward in $0.01 steps and returns the lowest price at which your net profit meets the target, with the full fee breakdown at that price.

What is a good FBA profit margin?

Industry experience suggests a net margin of 15-25% after product cost, FBA fulfillment, referral fee, fuel surcharge, advertising and returns is a healthy target for private-label sellers. Below 10% leaves little room for cost shocks, price wars or seasonal fee changes; above 30% is possible but usually invites competition. Use this calculator to see which selling price lands you in that band.

How does reverse pricing work?

Normal pricing starts at a price and computes profit. Reverse pricing starts at your desired profit and solves for the price. Because Amazon referral fees, fulfillment tiers and the 3.5% fuel surcharge all depend on the price itself, the tool re-checks every fee at each candidate price and finds the minimum price where net profit reaches your target.

What fees are included in this reverse pricing calculation?

Referral fee for your category (30 categories, tiered rates for beauty, baby, clothing, electronics accessories, jewelry and watches), the 2026 US fulfillment fee for your size tier and billable weight, the 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge on fulfillment, your product cost, inbound freight per unit, advertising as a share of price, and an amortized return allowance. Storage and placement fees are not modeled here.

What if my target profit is unreachable at any price?

If the tool reports that no price up to $1,000 reaches your target, your cost stack is too heavy for the category. Levers to pull: lower product cost, shrink the package to a cheaper fulfillment tier (try the Size Tier Optimizer), reduce ad spend share, or accept a lower target margin. Never chase an unreachable target by inflating price alone.
